An interesting house with a good size estate to wandering around. The house has some interesting aspects, billard table, lathe etc. in addition to the contents and architecture.

Awesomely Gothic in a distinctly Harry Potteresque style. The gardens, even in Feb, were superbly maintained. Could easily spend a whole day here but...other people had a similar idea and, by the time we left, were queuing for quite some distance - early start recommended.

I enjoy meeting friends here - beautiful grounds to walk in, good cafe for coffee, snacks or lunch, easy parking.

House is nice. There is also loads of outdoor space. I don't think we even saw half of it. We will have to go back again. There was a lego activity for the children when we went which was nice.

Чудове прекрасне місце, ще ніколи нам не зустрічалися настільки привітні працівники National Trast. Неймовірно гарне місце, рекомендую для відвідування

A fabulous house and extensive garden. Lots of different areas to explore (woods, formal gardens, rose gardens, arboretum, kitchen garden). A large restaurant and shop near the entrance is available. There is another (small) cafe near the kitchen garden with a play area. There is a play area in the woods above the house. The house itself has lots of rooms to explore (and lots of other areas that you can’t access). As usual there are lots of volunteers to welcome and guide you. The chapel is slightly separate to the house and well worth visiting.

The house was dismal dark and cold, was shown a kitchen, a couple of store rooms full of rubbish, some photos, the house was basically closed up, very depressing place, I understand they have too protect the furniture and keep it all dark, but when you have paying customers spending a lot of money. NT staff and volunteers always make you feel like your the lucky one looking around, I will keep my hard earned money for some where else thank you.

The whole experience in one of the cafes ruined my visit just before christmas. Small cramped cafe extrmely poorly designed, whoever thought to use over half the cafe floor space for the counter and prep area is mad. I visited with partner and two young children and in this particular cafe there was basically no where to sit as it was busy... 6 chairs and two tables in a cafe is not acceptable. The counter and prep area is postioned in a way that you queue so tightly next to other customers you are bumping into eachother and have to squeeze past shelving, this is very annoying with a pushchair and children. You need to exit the cafe and walk back into the original entrance to access seating zone. After ordering we ended up having to remind staff twice to provide a brownie that was paid for. Staff not very friendly in this cafe. The manager seemed to be making drinks leaving the two younger girls unmanaged. One of the staff tried to use the storage/exit door behind where we were sat so we ended up having to all get and move pushchair so they could fit.
